We Know Severna Park MD
Severna Park sits between the Magothy River and the Severn River on a peninsula that shapes everything about how electrical work gets done here. It is one of the most distinct markets we serve in Anne Arundel County and the job profile reflects that.
The waterfront neighborhoods along the Magothy River and its tributaries carry a specific set of challenges. Round Bay, Severna Park Shores, and the streets backing up to the water deal with salt air and Chesapeake Bay humidity year-round. Outdoor fixtures, panel connections, and disconnect boxes on waterfront properties degrade faster here than anywhere else in our service area. Pier and dock electrical connections need materials and installation methods specified for constant coastal exposure. We account for that on every outdoor job we take in this community.
The established mid-century streets in Chartwell and Oakleigh Forest carry homes built in the 1950s and 1960s with 100-amp panels that are now running central air, home offices, and EV chargers simultaneously. That combination pushes those panels past their design limits every day. Panel upgrades on these streets are not a future conversation. They are the call we get regularly from Severna Park homeowners who have been putting it off too long.
Severna Park’s income profile drives electrical demand that looks different from most Anne Arundel County communities. EV charger installations are among the highest per-capita calls we run in this market. Generator installations ahead of storm season are standard for homeowners who have invested in properties they intend to protect. Smart lighting upgrades, recessed lighting renovations, and landscape lighting installations on larger lots are consistent calls from a demographic that invests in their homes.
Ritchie Highway runs through the commercial spine of Severna Park connecting it to Millersville and Arnold. The commercial properties along this corridor call us for panel upgrades, lighting installations, and EV charging station work done with minimal disruption to operations.
B&A Trail corridor neighborhoods sit in the quieter residential interior of Severna Park away from the waterfront. Homes here call us for the full range of services from general repair and panel upgrades to generator installs ahead of storm season.

Severna Park Neighborhoods We Cover
Severna Park stretches along a peninsula between the Severn River and the Magothy, with ZIP codes 21146 and parts of 21108 inside our regular service area. Our crew works across the town on a steady basis, from waterfront homes facing the river to inland neighborhoods near the B&A Trail.
Here is where we work most often:
Chartwell A well-established neighborhood off Veterans Highway with mid-century single-family homes and mature landscaping. Many Chartwell properties were built in the 1960s and still run on original or partially updated service panels. Panel upgrades, dedicated kitchen circuits, and generator installs are common requests from Chartwell homeowners.
Cypress Creek Set near the headwaters of Cypress Creek, this neighborhood mixes older waterfront and water-access homes with newer infill builds. Outdoor lighting, exterior outlet repair, and panel upgrades to support modern appliance loads make up the bulk of our work here, alongside the occasional dock or pier circuit.
Allenville A quieter, established pocket of Severna Park with a mix of original homes and remodeled properties. Our calls in Allenville often involve ceiling fans, recessed lighting, and dedicated circuits for home additions, plus panel work for homeowners updating older service.
Riverdale Riverdale sits closer to the Severn River side of the peninsula, with homes that have either water access or short walks to it. Saltwater and humidity wear shows up here in corroded outdoor outlets, weather-rated fixture replacements, and dock and outbuilding wiring, all of which we handle regularly.
Arundel Beach A waterfront-adjacent neighborhood with a mix of cottages, year-round homes, and renovated bayside properties. Generator installs are particularly common in Arundel Beach because of storm-related outages, along with weatherproof exterior outlets, landscape lighting, and EV charger installs for newer builds.
Areas Near the B&A Trail and Severna Park Community Center The corridor along the B&A Trail and the blocks near the Severna Park Community Center include some of the town’s busiest residential streets and a few small commercial pockets. We handle tenant fit-outs, lighting upgrades, and code-compliant electrical work for both homeowners and small business owners in this part of town.

What to Expect When You Call Deshaies Electrical in Severna Park
Severna Park homeowners invest in their properties. They expect the electrician they call to show up prepared, quote honestly, and do the work correctly the first time. That is the standard we hold here.
Step 1 — We Ask the Right Questions First Call (443) 228-3569. When you describe a Round Bay waterfront property needing outdoor fixture work or a Chartwell home with a 1960s panel that keeps tripping, we already know what we are likely walking into. We ask enough upfront to arrive prepared for your specific property.
Step 2 — A Quote That Reflects What Is Actually There Waterfront properties and mid-century homes in Severna Park have specific requirements that affect how we scope and price a job. We assess thoroughly before we quote. The price you approve is the price you pay.
Step 3 — Licensed Work That Meets the Standard This Community Expects Maryland State Electrical License #12078 backs every job. Clean work, clear communication throughout, finished correctly before we leave. Boot covers at the door, full cleanup after every job.
Step 4 — A Trusted Electrician for Every Job After EV charger today, generator before storm season, landscape lighting when the project is ready. Most Severna Park customers call us back. We are about 15 minutes away and ready.
Protect Your Severna Park Home from Power Surges
Severna Park sits on a peninsula between two rivers and Chesapeake Bay weather does not treat it gently. Thunderstorms from June through September track directly across the Magothy River and Severn River corridors. Every serious storm brings surge risk to every unprotected circuit in every home on both sides of this community.
Waterfront properties in Round Bay and Severna Park Shores carry the highest exposure. Salt air has already been working on outdoor connections and panel hardware for years. A voltage spike on top of degraded coastal wiring damages connections silently. The appliance that stops working months later rarely gets connected to the storm that caused it.
Mid-century homes in Chartwell and Oakleigh Forest carry a different but equally serious risk. Aging 100-amp panels running modern loads are already operating near their limit every day. A surge on top of a stressed panel connection damages what is already marginal. The breaker that starts tripping after a storm is the one that was already close to failing before it.
Severna Park homeowners who have invested in EV chargers, smart home equipment, and modern appliances have more to protect than most. Whole-home surge protection installs at your panel in a single visit and shields every circuit in the house. It is one of the most cost-effective upgrades we install in this community.
Call (443) 228-3569 before storm season starts.

How to Find Us From Severna Park
Quick reference: 13.5 miles, about 22 minutes, mostly Veterans Highway into MD-3 South.
Severna Park is one of the closer service areas we cover. The trip down to our Crofton office is short, mostly straight, and doesn’t involve any major highway changes once you are pointed south.
The first stretch winds through Severna Park itself. Start by following Evergreen Road and Benfield Road out toward Veterans Highway. From there, Veterans Highway carries you about six miles southwest into Gambrills, where it merges with Crain Highway. That whole leg takes around 12 minutes.
Once you hit Crain Highway, you are essentially on MD-3 South for the rest of the run. Stay on it for about 7 miles, watching for the Baldwin Avenue exit on your right just outside Crofton. Hop off at Baldwin, drive a third of a mile, and look for Priest Bridge Court on your right. We are in Suite 6 with free parking right at the door.
Drive times depend on where in Severna Park you are starting from. Coming from Chartwell or near the Severna Park Community Center, you are right at the 22-minute mark. From Cypress Creek or Allenville, shave a few minutes off. Waterfront homes near the Severn River or Arundel Beach add a few minutes on the front end since you have to work your way back to Veterans Highway first.
If MD-3 backs up, US-50 West is the most reliable alternate route, though it adds about 5 miles to the trip.
